It comes in the same frosted 10 ml vial as the rest of the line, filtered and filled under sterile conditions, with each batch screened for sterility and endotoxins before release.
Plain sterile water is a single-use material: once the seal is broken, nothing prevents microbial growth in the vial. The 0.9% benzyl alcohol in bacteriostatic water suppresses that growth, which is what lets one vial serve a multi-draw protocol that runs across days or weeks rather than being discarded after the first use.
That's the whole design. It isn't a buffer, it adds nothing biologically active at working concentrations, and it leaves the reconstituted peptide's chemistry alone — it just keeps the vial usable for the life of the protocol.
In practice, a measured volume is drawn and added slowly to the peptide vial, letting the solution form against the glass rather than jetting onto the powder — lyophilized peptides dissolve gently or not at all.
